Kathy - I'm also a lover of Dickens Christmas Carol. When I was in high school and college I had several opportunities to perform extended excerpts in something like the dramatic readings that Dickens himself gave. It was very exciting, and the text speaks very well.

My heart goes out to the family in your area. Two terrible blows like that in such a short time - it hurts to even think about. I'm so glad that there's an outpouring of support for them. I wonder if there's anything that we could do to help....

Be well,

Andy

Hi Cathy!

Thanks for you kind words. It's not a custom theme as such, but I've customized it a bit to do what I wanted. It's version 1.0 of the Notepad Chaos theme by Evan Eckard . When I was just looking for the link, I noticed that he's now got a 2.0 version of it out that I'm going to look into. I do like it quite a lot. The only thing I don't love is that the main post area is only 468 pixels wide, so being as long winded as I am, that causes a lot of scrolling for my readers....

Be Well!

Beautiful blog - congrats on being in Connie's blog challenge! Are you using a custom theme? Love the way you have handwritten pieces in with the type faces.

I love Dickens Christmas Carol. There are so many lessons to be learn there. Sometimes I get feeling sorry for myself but then realize there are people much worse off that I am.

We just had a family in our area who lost a daughter to illness a couple of weeks ago and two days ago, their house caught on fire and they lost everything. When it rains it pours.

In the paper last night, it was mentioned how generous people had been in helping this family out. I believe folks are basically good and are always looking for an opportunity to do good.

I had a fire several years ago and know how it feels.... this family certainly gets my help.
