Amazing, Unique Jazz on the Colombian Harp – you’ve never heard anything like this!

I was first introduced to Edmar Castaneda when I heard him on an album by Marta Topferova, the friend who recommended her music (which is wonderful) pointed out that the sort of unusual sounding, flamenco guitar was in fact not a guitar but a HARP. I was blown away.
Then today @hiddenplace tweeted this video of him playing solo:
Then, fascinated, I dug deeper and found another NPR story on Edmar:
And even a full 1 hour concert recorder at Tanglewood as a member of a wonderful quartet.
I have to say that Edmar is on of my absolute favorite new musical discoveries, I’m really excited by his solo work, and can’t wait to hear more of him.
